Passengers in transit, Changi Airport, SIngapore
2011: Singapore is one the major hubs in South-East Asia and is serviced by Changi Airport. Arriving at the airport, however, you wouldn’t immediately recognise it as one of the busiest airports in the world. There is an overriding feeling of space and light. For those wanting fresh air, there’s a rooftop pool, a cactus garden/bar and water lily garden. The transit lounges are large, uncrowded and extremely comfortable. It’s most likely some of the reasons why Changi is voted the world’s best year upon year.

General view of the colourful Haji Lane in the Arab Quarter, Kampong Glam, Singapore
2013: Bordering Little India is Kampong Glam in the Arab Quarter, an historic neighbourhood of rich culture. Since the times of Sir Stamford Raffles, the district has been populated by Arab, Bugis & Malay communities. Today the district is a vibrant, diverse mixture of traditional shops, trendy boutiques, independent designers, cafes, bars and coffee shops. One of the best examples is the colourful, narrow Haji Lane.
